Surveying & Mapping

Our Professional Land Surveyors handle surveys for homeowners, new development, redevelopment, land division, and construction. On development projects we look for boundary issues early, during due diligence, when they're easiest to solve.

We also serve as the Racine County Surveyor, maintaining the Public Land Survey System corners that every property description in the county ultimately ties back to. When a road project is going to disturb those monuments, we work with municipalities, highway departments, contractors, and WisDOT to tie them down beforehand and reset them after.

Construction Staking & Building Layout

We stake buildings, houses, utilities, curbs, and grades so contractors build what was designed, where it was designed. House and building layout for homebuilders, too.

As-Built Surveys & Facilities Mapping

At project closeout we locate the finished building and site improvements and prepare record drawings. Owners and contractors use these to get occupancy, and municipalities use them to keep their utility maps current.

Footing, Foundation & Grading Certifications

Many communities require a surveyor to confirm that a new foundation is in the right place and at the right elevation, and that final grading matches the approved plan. We do those checks quickly so your builder isn't waiting.

Geodetic & GPS Surveys

Geodetic surveys use satellite positioning and account for the curvature of the earth, so measurements over large areas stay accurate. We use them to set control for big projects and to tie local surveys into state and county coordinate systems.

Drone (UAS) Mapping

Our FAA-licensed remote pilot flies drone surveys for aerial mapping and imagery of larger sites, combined with ground control so the results are survey-grade.

Section Corner Restoration & Perpetuation

As Racine County Surveyor, we maintain and restore the county's Public Land Survey System section corners. Wisconsin surveyors file their survey maps with the county surveyor, so we often know what's already been done in an area before we set foot on it.

Frequently asked questions

Which survey do I need?

It depends on why you need it. Fences, disputes, and home purchases usually call for a boundary survey. Commercial lenders and title companies ask for an ALTA/NSPS survey. Designers need a topographic survey. Splitting land takes a Certified Survey Map. If you're not sure, call us or start on our homeowner page.

Who can legally survey my property?

Only a Professional Land Surveyor licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services. County GIS maps and phone apps are approximations, not legal boundaries.

Has my property been surveyed before?

Possibly. Wisconsin surveyors have to file a copy of their survey maps with the county surveyor, so there may be a record. We search those records as part of every job.

What happens on survey day?

A two-person crew walks the property with GPS and a robotic total station, looking for existing corner markers and measuring improvements. Most residential field work takes a few hours. You don't need to be home, but please let us through the gate.

How do I get a quote?

Send us the address or tax parcel number, what the survey is for, and when you need it. Homeowners can use the quote form; everyone else can call or email.
